Dates, Cost, & Other Details

As a yoga school we recognize our responsibility to share the teachings of yoga in a way that honors and respects yoga’s roots. We hold a deep reverence for the teachings of yoga and are committed to offering a training program that weaves yogic wisdom and philosophy throughout each training module. While a large part of this program includes teaching postural yoga, this training is meant to produce stewards of yoga and not just fitness instructors. Our lead teachers each have a longstanding yoga practice and years of experience teaching yoga, and you won’t find any brand new teachers leading our training modules.

This training is designed to move slowly, giving you time to sink your teeth into the content. You’ll have room to reflect, integrate, and embody the teachings, the way that yoga was meant to be learned. We believe that a solid foundation is built slowly over time, rather than by cramming information into a short and condensed training, where little knowledge is truly retained. When moving at a methodical, unhurried pace, information becomes knowledge, which eventually alchemizes into wisdom.

Our cohort will meet weekly on Wednesday evenings, from 6-9pm (excluding the weeks of Thanksgiving and Christmas) and for one weekend a month, September 2026 through February 2027.

Weekend training hours will be Friday 6-9pm, Saturday 9am-5pm, Sunday 9am-5pm. Days are long, but with many breaks, and a combo of listening, watching, sharing, moving, and practice teaching.

FAQS

What are the prerequisites for participating in the YTT? How do I know if I’m ready?

A steady and consistent yoga practice (asana and/or meditation) of at least a year is strongly suggested. Those with an open mind and a desire to learn the historical, philosophical, and spiritual components of yoga are strong candidates for this YTT. This program includes an in depth study of yoga philosophy and is not simply a group fitness training.

I can’t do handstands or other challenging poses. Am I ready for a YTT?

Performing fancy shapes with your body is certainly NOT required for this training. You’ll learn that yoga is about so much more than making shapes with your body. Those with specific physical “limitations” or requirements are encourage to participate. My teacher Dana likes to say, “every body different than my own is a teacher.” We all learn more when the cohort is diverse!

Is yoga religious? Will this contradict my existing faith practices?

While yoga has connections to Sanatana Dharma (known in the west as Hinduism) yoga is inclusive of all faiths and is not inherently religious. You’ll learn more about this in the training!
